I have lived in McKinney since 1989 and I learned more about McKinney during this 6 week program than I have in my 22 years here. The Chamber has put together an exciting and informative program which introduces you to McKinney businesses, government, social services and history of our community. If you work or have a business in McKinney this program is a must. If you simply want to get plugged into the community in which you live and do business, this program is vital. I highly recommend the "The McKinney Experience" to everyone."

The McKinney Experience

WHO?
New or established citizens who are gathering insight into their community and figuring out how to become more involved.

WHAT?
The McKinney Experience is a community orientation program for individuals interested in learning about the inner workings of McKinney and becoming a more integral, active participant in the community and Collin County.

CONNECT with community and regional leaders and fellow citizens
DEVELOP a working knowledge of McKinney and the decision-making channels
DIALOGUE about community issues
LEARN about McKinney’s uniqueness and culture

WHEN?
Six Fridays beginning March 23, 2012

Orientation/City History & Tour (8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)

MARCH 30
City & County Government (8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)

APRIL 13
Education (8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)

APRIL 20
Health & Human Services (8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)

APRIL 27
Economic Development (8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)

MAY 4
Arts / Parks & Recreation / Sports & Entertainment (8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)

WHERE?
Classes will be held at various locations around McKinney, providing program participants the opportunity to visit significant sites.

HOW?
Tuition: $200; $275 with spouse
